Infrastructure

We operate a science and technology park, part of the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University.
Specifically, it is 2200 m2 of superbly equipped space, a backdrop for combining business, science, and technology.
Scientists and students from Masaryk University and IT companies meet here. More than 20 companies have their headquarters here, start-ups and large corporations. Physical proximity facilitates collaboration and information sharing.

CERIT Science Park I has proven to be a functional and successful project. However, at the same time, we lack space for other companies.
CERIT Science Park II is currently underway and will cover more than 20 000 m2. This will allow a significant increase in IT capacity in the area.
As part of this project, CERIT provides process cooperation for Masaryk University with a private investor.

We run training control systems. These are systems and devices that control and monitor technological processes in the industry. The safety of these systems is crucial for our society.
Specifically, they are used, for example, in the production and distribution of electricity, oil, natural gas, drinking water, or in the management of transport, chemical, automotive, or manufacturing industries.
We use these systems in cybersecurity research and teaching. Thanks to testbeds, it is possible to supplement theoretical education with practical exercises.

It is a sophisticated virtual environment that we have been developing at Masaryk University since 2013.
It can be used to create university courses and training for professionals. We have a lot of practical experience with both use cases.
In addition, we released the KYPO Cyber Range Platform as open-source in 2020. This means that it is now available to everyone.

It is a geographic area for development focused on cybersecurity. Activities and competencies related to this area have been concentrated here for a long time.
This also facilitates research and investment cooperation.
CERIT is the initiator and coordinator of CYBER CAMPUS CZ. It also ensures its connection with the Council of the National Centre for Cyber Security, which consults its direction.
